Senior citizens get surprise gift

He said they deeply appreciate the gift from the children of Aurora Agustin.

On Nov. 29 Agustin, 83, passed away but her family said they will never forget the services that the Office on Aging extended to her.

Her daughter-in-law Elizabeth Ganang and granddaughter KayLani Ngirarois brought one sack of rice, one box of ribs and a box of chicken to the Manamko’ Center yesterday.

“We are overwhelmed by the good things the manamko’ center gave to [Agustin],” Ganang said, as she thanked Macaranas and the center.

In other news, Macaranas said his office is also repacking the donation of assorted linen, such as towels, blankets and clothes, given by the Windstar Cruises of the Holland America Line Inc.

He said he will distribute the packages to the manamko’ on Saipan, Rota and Tinian before Christmas.

Macaranas expressed his gratitude to all the institutions and individuals who continue to provide gifts to the manamko’ every year.

Bill Camacho, Taga Rider president, who recently led his group in distributing their gifts to the senior citizens, also thanked the donors and his group’s members for their support.

The Taga Riders’ giveaways included gift certificates and assorted goods from Price Costco, J.C. Tenorio, Marpac, Happy Market, Pacific Trading, Coca Cola, Mobil on Middle Road, Dolphin, Dollar Days, Taro Sue, Fresh Market, World Resort, Asian Scooter, Dr. Dutor, Mr. & Mrs. Eddie and Jovie Flores, XO Market, H-Mart, Ebisuya, Pacific Amusement, National Office Supply, Martha Store Liberty Plaza, and the Taga Riders.

Camacho also acknowledged the support of the Taga Riders: Eddie Flores, vice president; Joey Ejercito, secretary; Jess Santos, treasurer; Jun Somorang, road captain; and the members —Marie Sapong, Vince Lizama, Peter Togawa, Ruben Corpuz, Stanley Santos, Ben Sablan, Ed Tudor, Cel Damian, Dave Meyers, Jess Quiblat and Tony Yen, Jovie Flores, Manny Cabrera, Jasmine Sapong, Clyde Jones, Rick Omar, Darrel Terlaje and Harry Deal.

“I like to thank all them members for the hard work they have done for this year. And I would like to continue this effort for the next year again. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all,” Camacho said.

The Korean Ladies Association also thanked those who provided the holiday giveaways to the manamko’.
