As of 4:30 p.m. yesterday, Tinian’s Department of Public Safety Director Ray Pangelinan said detectives and crime scene technicians from the department’s Criminal Investigation Bureau on Saipan were still conducting an investigation.
“We are here to provide security and to document the area,” Pangelinan told the Variety.
He said their office has an ongoing investigation regarding two missing persons.
The Crime Stoppers and DPS have been seeking information on the disappearance of Manuel Dela Cruz who was reported missing by family members on Sept. 30, 2000, and Tinian resident John Franklin Garcia Manahane who was reported missing in Sept. 2005.
As of press time last night, DPS had yet to issue an official statement on the discovery of the skeletal remains.
