Sports Day at SIS welcomes international visitors

SIS first through fifth grade classes went to Ada Gym field for a Sports Day organized by fourth grade teacher, Mr. David Steinberg. Events included a hula-hoop challenge, softball roll, 400-meter, 200-meter, and 100-meter races, long jump, and jump rope among other activities.

That day outdoors in the cozy Saipan sun and balmy breezes included snack, plenty of water, and a lunch of hotdogs, chips, and lemonade. It ended with an awards ceremony presenting ribbons to all first and second place finishers for each class in each event. Together with over 100 visiting, international students, most on their school holidays from Korea, they had a great day and no doubt after that rigorous workout, everyone went home and slept well!

SIS would like to thank Northern Marianas Athletics and the staff at Ada Gym for volunteering their time to help us make this event a success!
