Groups of families and friends fell in line at McDonald’s in Garapan and on Middle Road to take advantage of the price discounts.
“We are very happy for the huge turnout of people and the support of the community for the program,” McDonald’s Saipan marketing officer Anna Olaes told the Variety.
McDonald’s Saipan manager Marcia E. Ayuyu said the Share-a-Meal promo, which will run throughout all the Saturdays of June, is their way of thanking the members of the community while requesting them to support Red Cross projects.
“This program also gives families a chance to bond together while supporting a good cause,” Ayuyu added.
To get a chance to win the round-trip ticket to any Asian destination or any of the 10 consolation prizes, a customer must attach a raffle stub available for free at McDonald’s, the Red Cross office and the Marianas Variety office to a receipt for a $15 minimum purchase to qualify for the grand draw on June 26.
The Share-a-Meal promo includes all happy meals of any kind for $2.99, all breakfast meals of any kind for $3.99, and all lunch extra value meal of any kind at $4.99.
Twenty percent of the proceeds will be donated to the American Red Cross.
IT&E, which also a supports the promo, distributed items to McDonald’s customers on Saturday. IT&E will be at McDonald’s on June 26 and will donate a portion of their proceeds to the Red Cross.
“We invite the community to partake of our delicious meals, and support the Red Cross at the same time for the remaining Saturdays of the month,” Ayuyu said.
Liberation queen sponsor
For the first time, McDonalds Saipan is sponsoring one of the Liberation queen candidates.
“We have always shown our support for the Liberation Day celebration in the past years, but this is our first year to sponsor a Liberation queen candidate,” Ayuyu said.
McDonald’s Saipan will be behind the fundraising activities and other events of candidate Josifynn “Peachy” Quitugua Rasa.
Rasa’s parents Vinnie and Roca Sablan are very proud of their 16-year-old daughter and grateful to McDonald’s Saipan for supporting her.
“We will be carrying the name of McDonald’s Saipan in our daughter’s activities and we feel honored to have them beside us,” Vinnie Sablan said.
