THOUSANDS of car enthusiasts are expected to see the toughest and the hottest wheels on the island during the 5th Annual Saipan Super Custom Car Show on Sunday at American Memorial Park.
This event will feature new factory car models and custom cars from five different categories, including lowriders, mini-trucks and bicycles.
A car crash demonstration and various display booths of automotive dealers and vehicle parts and service businesses will also be featured.
The presence of super models from Guam and Canada—Mary Belle Lim and Fantasia—will be some of the highlights of the show that will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“It’s a great event for everybody—lots of cars, styles, music, beautiful ladies. This has been a three-month promotion and we believe it remains as one of the biggest events this year,” said Curtis J. Dancoe, Saipan operations manager of Sorensen Pacific Broadcasting which owns The Rock and Power 99 radio stations.
The Rock, Power 99 and Mobil are the main sponsors of the event.
“Every year, there’s 40 to 60 cars on display,” said Dancoe.
The three judges for the contests are the winners of a recent car show on Guam.
Interested individuals or clubs have until Friday to register with Power 99 or The Rock.
There are nine categories for the competition: lowriders, 4×4 trucks, non-competition, hydraulics, lowrider/mini-trucks, euroclass/sport compact cars, classic cars/trucks, lowrider bicycles and motorcycles.
