‘Survivor Japan’ may shoot episode 3 on Saipan

THE producers of the Japanese version of the popular TV show “Survivor” may shoot its next episode in the CNMI, according to Small Business Development Center Director Eric L. Plinske.

Plinske said Hiromi Goto, associate producer of “Survivor Japan,” is considering to film episode 3 of the popular TV show on any of the CNMI islands.

Episode 2 of the show was filmed in Palau. The shooting ended just recently.

The executive producers of the show instructed Goto to search for their next location and Saipan was suggested.

“The producer asked me to seek possibility of filming episode 3 in the Northern Marianas. The most important thing is what kind of back up can we get,” Goto told Plinske.

Goto also asked for a formal invitation from the governor and the Marianas Visitors Authority to film their latest episode in the CNMI.

Plinske said “Survivor” would surely boost the islands’ exposure among the traveling public in Japan—the local tourism industry’s major market.

“The filming of ‘Survivor Japan’ (episode 3) would be an outstanding opportunity for the Northern Marianas to get free exposure to millions of Japanese residents that will watch the show,” Plinske said.
