Police said Marvin Ringles was transported to the Department of Corrections where he was booked and detained.
The victim, a 27-year-old woman, positively identified Ringles as the one who stole her laptop, worth $900, police said.
Police responded at 1:32 p.m. to a burglary in progress at the old Michigan Garment Factory in San Antonio.
Officer Rudolfo Hermosilla met with the victim at her barracks who said Ringles stole a laptop from her room.
She was cooking in her room, when she saw Ringles open the front door of her apartment, reached in and took her laptop that was on the table.
She told police she followed Ringles to another barracks near her residence, but lost sight of the suspect.
She then called the police.
With the help of witnesses, responding police officers located the housing unit where the suspect was last seen.
Officer Danny Quitugua and Sabino Cabrera obtained consent from the owner of the apartment to search the unit and found Ringles hiding in the closet.
