Teen caught sniffing butane

ANOTHER juvenile was caught sniffing butane at a beach in San Jose on Tuesday.

The 14-year-old boy was turned over to the Department of Public Safety’s Juvenile Section, DPS spokesman Pete C. Muna said.

Muna said the boy admitted sniffing propane butane and that his parents wanted charges to be filed against him so “he can get the proper help he needs.”

According to the police, a witness was instructed by his aunt to go and look for the suspect, who is his nephew.

The witness found the suspect sitting on the sand. When he approached, he found his nephew inhaling butane.

The witness grabbed the canister from the suspect, who refused to go home and instead went into the water.

The witness scuffled with the suspect and subsequently convinced him to go home.

Last May 21, a boy was caught sniffing butane outside a house in Kagman.

When a responding police officer came, the boy’s eyes were allegedly still red and he appeared to be confused.
