Teen to be charged with misuse of credit cards, forgery

Chief Prosecutor Michael Ernest and trial assistant Tiberius Mocanu represented the government while Cabael appeared with his father.

Naraja earlier ruled that Cabael is not indigent and will have to hire his own attorney.

According to the criminal information filed by Assistant Attorney General Russel Lorfing, Cabael unlawfully entered the residence of Vladislav Melnik on six separate occasions “to commit felony or crime against property” on or about August 2009 up to November 2009.

At the time, Cabael was 17.

The information added that Cabael took pieces of property belonging to Melnik and Andrey Zinchenko, such as a mini-K-Bar knife, a black K-Bar diving knife, a black Camel Pak, a black paintball handgun, an olive colored paint ball helmet, a 31-inch Sony television, credit cards, a black plastic spear gun, and a wooden spear gun.

On or about September 2009 up to November 2009, the AG’s Office said Cabael unlawfully used Melnik’s debit or credit card by purchasing $3,758.19 worth of goods from different stores, and $4,867.72 worth of ATM transactions, or a grand total of $8,625.91.

On or about Oct. 9, 2009 up to Oct. 17, 2009, the AGO said Cabael “unlawfully” used Zinchenko’s debit or credit card by purchasing $6,278.50 worth of goods.
