Tenorio nominated personnel director

GOVERNOR Juan N. Babauta has nominated former Representative Juan I. Tenorio as the commonwealth personnel director, optimistic that his “vast expertise” in human resources could bring about changes to the agency. Babauta formally informed the 13th Senate yesterday of Tenorio’s nomination to the post, which will take effect immediately upon Tenorio’s acceptance.

Tenorio earlier told Variety that he will be accepting the offer.

“ Lt. Gov. Benavente and I are confident that with your vast experience in the human resources area, you will carry out the mandates of the department admirably,” Governor Babauta said.

Tenorio met with the governor last week when the latter offered him of the position.

Tenorio was just confirmed by the Senate Executive Appointments and Government Investigation as commissioner of the Civil Service Commission.

“We have discussed about that already. I am more than willing to serve him and the government,” Tenorio told the Variety.

Tenorio agreed that there should be “changes” that should be implemented in the government to improve its service to the public.

He said various issues regarding employment, pending complaints and grievances should also be acted on.

“Those are critical issues that must be addressed,” Tenorio said.

Tenorio has earlier called for an end to“partisanship” in the commission.
