‘The Big Hit’ to admit punching Dental Care owner

In the signed plea agreement on Aug. 23, 2011, Fitial agreed to be sentenced to one year imprisonment, all suspended except for seven days without  parole, with credit for time served at the Department of Corrections facility.

Fitial was arrested on March 5, 2010, and was released on March 8, 2010 after posting $1,000 cash bail and a $1,000 unsecured or appearance bond.

According to the plea agreement, Fitial admitted punching Scot Thompson, owner/partner of Dental Care Saipan, “multiple times” in the face on Feb. 12, 2010.

As a result of Fitial’s assault and battery, Thompson “suffered bodily injury to his facial area,” the plea agreement stated.

The prosecution will move for the dismissal with prejudice of the remaining charges: aggravated assault and battery, and two counts of disturbing the peace.

Police said Fitial, reeking of alcohol, punched Thompson several times on Beach Road near The Flair Bar in Garapan last February.

Thompson told police he was punched in the left eye by Fitial.

Prior to the assault, Fitial cussed and shouted at Thompson and his friend Jong Sung Kim, police said.
