Manglona, 39, has denied the charge of one count of theft of the .9mm pistol of Police Officer Joann B. Aldan in San Jose, Tinian between July 19 and Aug. 7, 2002.
The arraignment occurred on Aug. 13, 2004 at the Tinian court house before Associate Judge David Wiseman.
A motion to set status conference was filed by Assistant Attorney General Brian Gallagher on Feb. 3, 2010.
“This case was last heard on Aug. 13, 2004 for an arraignment. No hearings were scheduled since then,” Gallagher stated in his motion.
A penal summon was then prepared for Manglona for a Feb. 12, 2010 status conference at the Tinian court house, but it was taken off-calendar since “service was not perfected.”
Attorney Ramon Quichoco made a limited appearance on behalf of Manglona, who failed to appear.
Manglona was previously represented by attorney and now Associate Judge Perry B. Inos.
Gallagher and Quichocho earlier stipulated that “in order for the court and the parties have a meaningful status conference, and avoid wasting time and resources, it is better to continue the status conference to the March 2010 Tinian calendar to give defendant’s counsel time to prepare.”
