(MVA) — The Marianas Visitors Authority officially launched its new marketing campaign, “This Is The Marianas,” last week in South Korea.
The campaign focuses on sports and leisure tourism in Saipan, Tinian, and Rota and was introduced to media and travel trade representatives at The Marianas Day event on Wednesday, Feb. 26, at JW Marriott Dongdaemun Square Seoul. Nearly 150 attendees participated in Wednesday’s activities, which featured a press conference followed by a seminar-style event.
To further promote The Marianas, MVA recently appointed Korean actress Uie as an honorary Marianas sports (marathon) tourism ambassador. Uie shared her excitement with The Marianas Day attendees.
“I’m truly thrilled to take part in the Saipan Marathon on March 8,” she said. “As a sports ambassador of The Marianas, I look forward to giving my best and sharing the beauty of The Marianas with fellow runners and travelers.”
Additionally, professional golfer Bo-Kyeom Park — whose love for the sport sprouted when she was growing up in Saipan — was appointed as an honorary golf ambassador in January. Park took time from her winter training schedule to send a personal video message for the event, expressing her enthusiasm for promoting golf tourism in The Marianas.
“The Marianas is an ideal travel destination offering unique and memorable experiences for Korean visitors, and we are pleased with the enthusiastic reception our new campaign is receiving,” said MVA Managing Director Christopher A. Concepcion. “We demonstrated our commitment to strengthening our engagement with the Korean market, promoting sustainable tourism, and showcasing The Marianas’ rich culture and natural beauty as a truly distinctive destination. It was also an important opportunity to introduce incoming Managing Director Jamika Taijeron to our key partners.”
The Marianas Day event provided a platform to share upcoming marketing initiatives with key industry professionals, including travel industry representatives, media, influencers, and key industry partners. A destination presentation highlighted recent developments and updates about The Marianas and the unique attractions of Saipan, Tinian, and Rota.
