Tinian principal appointed to NMC board of regents

Yesterday, Hofschneider confirmed he received the electronic copy of his appointment that was signed Gov. Benigno R. Fitial on Wednesday morning.

“I guess it’s another challenge for me,” he said, as he assured that serving as NMC regent will not affect his work on Tinian.

Last month, the governor  appointed former Rep. William Torres of Saipan to the board of regents.

The nominations of Torres and Hofschneider must be confirmed by the Senate.

Tinian Republican Rep. Trenton Conner said Hofschneider’s nomination was recommended by the island’s legislative delegation and  mayor’s office.
