Torres bags Best in Talent Award in gay pageant

Winning the Best in Talent Award entitles Torres to perform during the main event on June 25.

Torres enthralled the crowd with her fast dance and acrobatic movements, accidentally breaking a glass filled with iced tea on the judges’ table with her high heels when she tumbled back on stage, gaining more cheers from the crowd.

Torres bested four other contestants in the talent show. Three of the eight contestants did not join the talent competition but they will be joining the main pageant show which will be held at the Fiesta Resort & Spa Hibiscus Hall at 7 p.m. on June 25.

Pageant director Shawna Lynn Mauricio said they were very happy with the turnout of the crowd despite having so many activities going on last Saturday.

“We had more attendance than what we were expecting, and we hope to see more people during the main event next month,” Mauricio said.
