(Commonwealth Utilities Corporation) — There will be traffic delays and sewage odor along Micro Beach Road in Lower Miha, Garapan due to an ongoing sewer line replacement project. The odor is expected as existing sewer lines are exposed and replaced during the construction process.
CUC’s contractor, Hong Ye Construction, will be installing a new manhole and sewer lines as part of the project. Traffic delays are expected from Thursday, February 6, 2025, to Friday, February 21, 2025, from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. There may be adjustments to the work routine due to the tide level, which affects the groundwater level and may interfere with the construction work.
For the safety of the construction crew, motorists are advised to reduce speed and exercise caution while driving in the area or take alternative routes. Detour signs and HYC personnel will be on-site to assist with traffic rerouting.
About the project
The Lower Miha Sewer Line Replacement project is funded by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to provide a more reliable sewer system. The transition work is part of decommissioning the old sewer line and will be replaced with PVC pipes.
CUC apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciates your cooperation in accommodating the traffic delays necessary to complete this critical infrastructure improvement project for our customers.
