UniFil reelects Cabarles as president

THE general membership of the United Filipino Association in Tinian on Sunday reelected their president, Rodney S. Cabarles.

Philippine Consul General to Guam Rosario P. Lemque led the induction of new officers and oath-taking ceremony at JC Café at 7 p.m. on Sunday.

Also gracing the event was Tinian Mayor Edwin P. Aldan, who was reelected as the group’s board member. UniFil likewise reelected its auditor, Edgar C. Tirona.

The new UniFil officers for 2024-2026 are vice president Mary Susan Perez, secretary Lyneth T. Torregosa, treasurer Marilyn L. Carlos, business manager Joselito C. Lenteja, and public relations officers Anacita P. Vergara and Jonah G. Lagota.

The 2024-2026 board members are Mayor Aldan, Benedicta L. Borja, Frances Anne H. Santos, Eduardo Q. Baltazar, Marie Rose G. Bunao and James B. Clemente.

The group’s advisers are Julita C. Diaz, Tessa E. Diaz, Edwin M. Sta. Theresa, Corazon T. Cepeda and Rowena L. Advincula.

Cabarles thanked the UniFil members and his fellow officers for their confidence in him. He also thanked Lemque, Lorenz Dantes, director of the Office of Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs Undersecretary for Migration Affairs, and Consul Ricardo R. Aragon for flying in from Guam to administer the oath to the UniFil officers.

Cabarles likewise thanked Mayor Aldan and members of the Tinian and Aguigan Legislative Delegation for their “valuable support.”

He said UniFil is a civic, social, charitable, non-sectarian, non-profit, non-political and non-stock organization that aims to foster a more harmonious relationship and greater understanding among community members, and formulate programs and projects to promote their welfare and advancement.
