EMMA Perez, the interim operations director of the Marianas Alliance of Non-Government Organizations, said the panel discussion at the upcoming MANGO general membership meeting will help partner organizations address funding, which she called “the biggest challenge facing our nonprofit members.”
The meeting is set for Sept. 28 at the Hyatt Regency Saipan, beginning at 11 a.m. Lunch is included.
The event is not open to the public, and MANGO members are encouraged to register for participation.
Scheduled to make an appearance at the panel discussion are Rep. John Paul Sablan, Rep. BJ Attao, CNMI Workforce Investment Agency Director Frances A. Torres, and CNMI Workforce Investment Agency Program Manager Joseph Villacrusis.
Perez said panelists can show nonprofits how to take advantage of opportunities to “become more sustainable.”
“[Panelists] will share information about two important sources of funding that many nonprofits are unaware of or don’t know how to pursue,” Perez said. “Organizations that understand the cycle and process can benefit from [Saipan and Northern Islands Legislative Delegation] funding. On-the-job training and apprenticeship program funding are available through our federal partners,” she added.
