Anefal welcome the admiral to the state of Yap and thanked him for taking time out of his busy schedule to participate in the commencement exercise for Outer Island High School in Ulithi.
“Your participation will surely be welcome not only by the students but the Ulithi community at large,” Anefal said.
He also engaged Bushong in discussions on the Guam military buildup and how it is progressing.
Other issues of discussion included a pending request by the state to remove the MV Cecelia, ongoing assessment of infrastructure projects in Ulithi, and the concept of Ulithi lagoon as an anchorage point for U.S. military vessels.
Bushong said he is honored to visit Yap and be part of the OIHS graduation. Although he is new to his posting he looks forward to closer working relationship with Yap.
Both the governor and the admiral are to fly out today to attend the commencement exercise in Ulithi.
