United Workers Movement-NMI organized the event and its president Rabby Syed said U.S. Labor’s Dean Tenorio and Dan Wang will discuss the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Syed said it is important for workers and employers to know their rights and obligations under the law.
“I am inviting members of the community to attend the presentation,” he said, adding that it is important to maintain a healthy working environment.
The presentation, he added, will answer many questions.
“Both presenters will discuss important topics such as exemptions, minimum wage, overtime pay, work hours, deductions and common errors,” Syed said.
The U.S. Labor officials will also discuss the future status of nonresident farmers and house helpers.
There will be a question and answer portion after the presentation, Syed said.
The presentation is open to the public in a first come, first served basis due to limited seating capacity.
It will start at 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and will be held at the American Memorial Park Visitor Center on April 2.
