The meeting had been due to take place last Monday, but was cancelled because government members failed to show up after claims the opposition had secured the majority.
It will now go ahead next Tuesday, when a vote of no-confidence against Prime Minister Edward Natapei and his government will be tabled.
Both sides have been scrambling to secure the majority since last weekend, when parliamentary speaker George Wells was expelled from Natapei’s National United Party for claiming party members were misusing copra subsidies.
At least three members from each side have now crossed the floor, with the opposition and government both claiming to have the most votes ahead of Tuesday’s session.
