Don’t miss the first Friday film showing “The Man Who Planted Trees” tonight at the American Memorial Park Visitor Center.
“The Man Who Planted Trees” is an Academy Award-winning animated film about one man’s long and successful single-handed effort to re-forest a desolate valley.
Grab the chance to ask questions and hear Dr. Dilip Nandwani from Northern Marianas College-Community Research Extension and Education Services talk about their re-vegetation and planting projects, and see some displays in the Visitor Center lobby.
The film will run for 60 minutes. Admission is free and open to the community.

Support the CNMI-wide campaign to raise funds to help the survivors and victims of the earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan on March 11.
All donations will be acknowledged on air through radio stations KKMP 1440 AM and 92.1 FM, KZMI 101 FM, and KWAW 100.3 FM.
Help the Japanese Society of the NMI and its cooperating agencies reach its $100,000 target for donation.

Marianas Winds Kite Festival and Cultural Food Fair
10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Be at American Memorial Park center baseball field and join the annual kite flying festival as a fundraising event hosted by Brilliant Star School and the Marianas Visitors Authority.
Games, arts and crafts and various cultural foods will be available for sale. Entry fee for participants in the kite flying is $5.
Kites are available from $8 to $15. Contact Brilliant Star School at 323-7827, or just show up at the festival grounds on Sunday.
