Warren Villagomez, the program director, said CHCC has been in the planning stage since Dec. 17.
CHCC Chief Executive Officer Esther Muna, for her part, said doctors and various other public health and environmental health officials and personnel are taking steps to prevent the spread of measles in the CNMI.
Villagomez said they have come up with emergency response guidelines should a measles outbreak occur on island.
Also discussed are the protective measures for healthcare workers, patients, and other community members, he added.
Nicholas said the visiting WHO representatives are expected to share their knowledge and expertise with CHCC in dealing with a measles outbreak.
“Having dealt with the measles outbreak in the South Pacific and being familiar with other countries that may not have an immunization program in place, they will be able to address some of the concerns that we have identified,” Nicholas said.
