Irene Tantiado, a workers rights advocate, yesterday said the forum may be held in mid-September at American Memorial Park in Garapan.
She said the organizing group is still looking into the schedules of each of the nine candidates.
During the forum, she added, each of the candidates will be given five minutes to present their plans and programs for the CNMI.
After their presentations, members of the community will be allowed to ask questions to the candidates.
Tantiado said environmental advocate Angelo Villagomez has agreed to moderate the forum, but so far only former Judge Juan T. Lizama and John DLR. Gonzales have accepted the invitation to participate.
Saipan Municipal Council member Felipe Q. Atalig has said he is prepared to participate in any forum where he can discuss his programs.
The other candidates are Washington Rep. Pete A. Tenorio, former Sen. David M. Cing, Sen. Luis P. Crisotimo, Marianas High School teacher John Davis, businessman Chong Won, and Gregorio C. Sablan, who is on leave as Election Commission executive director.
Tantiado is asking them to contact her at 285-7717 or 483-6867, or e-mail [email protected].
