The workshops’ theme is Bridging the Gap: Overseas Filipinos in our Contemporary Society and they will be conducted by Bishop Nilo S. Tayag of the Philippine Independent Catholic Church and his wife, Dr. Josefina G. Tayag, DPA, vice chancellor for academic affairs of the University of the Philippines-Manila.
Topics include:
1. Livelihood Program for the Families of OFWs
2. Adjustment Problems of OFWs in the Light of the Middle East Crisis
3. Organizing Families of OFWs in the Philippines for Livelihood Projects
4. Literacy Program for Overseas Filipino Workers
5. OFW Bank
Through the collaboration of the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library headed by its executive director John Oliver Gonzales, the venue of the workshops will be in the library conference room with the following schedule:
Sunday, May 1, 1 p.m. -4 p.m.
Monday, May 2, 6 p.m. -9 p.m.
Tuesday, May 3, 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.
The workshops will be held on Guam from May 5 to 7. Director Leah Beth Naholowaa of the Guam Department of Labor and Roy Adonay of the Filipino Community in Guam are actively coordinating these workshops and are very grateful to the CNMI Filipino community.
