WSR to start beautification, repair projects

WSR principal Naomi Nishimura said they were provided some $200,000 in American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds for the repainting of their buildings as well as other renovation projects.

Nishimura said they will also install state-of-the-art doors that have no door knobs to maintain sanitation and hygiene.

To pursue the energy conservation program of the Public School System, she said they will replace old air-conditioning units.

PSS will decide what to do with the old  units, she added.

She said classes will not be affected while these repair projects are being implemented.

Challenges

Nishimura, the former vice principal of the school, said WSR is ready to face the challenges of the new school year.

She also expressed confidence in the new vice principal, Marjorie Pangelinan.

“She works diligently and is reliable. She is also well aware of the school’s operation,” she said.

In a separate interview, Pangelinan said the school administration and the teachers continue to maintain a good relationship and have respect for each other.

As vice principal, she  assists teachers with their school tasks.

“We help each other and sit down to go over with the daily tasks in  school,” she added.
