Six teams were assigned to different communities and municipalities.
The first team conducted public education meetings at Rumung, Maap and Rull municipalities; the second team covered Gagil and Weloy municipalities; the third team went to Tomil and Dalipebinaw municipalities; the fourth team proceeded to Fanif, Kanifay and Gilman municipalities; the fifth team was deployed to Gargey and Colonia NI communities; while the sixth team held meetings at the Community Center and the Yap Women’s Association.
Public educators for the neighboring islands are expected to go out on the next field trip.
The state task force on this education process is urging the general public to attend the various workshops to get a better understanding of the proposed amendments before casting their votes in the upcoming general elections in Nov. 2010 for the state and March 2011 for the nation.
