M2 Fitness on Friday donated $2,000 to the Saipan Soccer School through the Tan Siu Lin Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Tan Holdings Corp.
The funds were part of the proceeds from M2 Fitness’ second anniversary presentation last month at Saipan World Resort’s Royal Taga Hall.
M2 Fitness President Mary Grace Bautista handed the cash donation to Tan Holdings CEO and President Jerry Tan in the presence of Tan Siu Lin Foundation Executive Director Merlie Tolentino and other M2 Fitness officers and members at the TSL Sports Complex.
Aside from TSL Foundation, the other beneficiary of the M2 Fitness fundraiser is the CNMI Museum.
In an interview, Bautista said they chose to donate to TSL Foundation’s Saipan Soccer School and the CNMI Museum because “we want to set an example to all the other fitness groups in CNMI that we can all work and dance as one to inspire and help the community, improve self-care, promote an active lifestyle and celebrate diversity.”
She said M2 Fitness wants to help create a better community for everyone.
“But all these things will not be possible without the support and help of M2 members and other organizations,” she added. “M2’s goal is not only for everyone to stay fit and healthy but to also encourage others to get involved and spread love and have a positive impact on the lives of the people in the community.”
Tan said the foundation is grateful to M2 Fitness as he also congratulated the group for its successful Zumba activities that are always well attended.
“I am very big with sports,” said Tan who has just been reelected president of the Northern Marianas Sports Association.
He said sports is one of the best things “we all can do as residents in the CNMI to be healthier and I’m sure you do Zumba for the same reason.”
He added, “I want to say keep it up. This is good work and we built this [TSL Sports Complex] facility to promote fitness and sports.”
