REPRESENTATIVE Corina L. Magofna has been named the vice chair of House Ways and Means Committee, and member of four other committees.
In an interview on Thursday, Magofna, who won the Precinct 3 special election to fill the seat of the late Rep. Ivan Blanco, said the Ways and Means chairman, Rep. Donald Manglona, with the concurrence of Speaker Edmund S. Villagomez, had appointed her Ways and Means vice chair, succeeding Blanco.
A former chief financial officer of the Commonwealth Utilities Corp., Magofna will also serve on the following House of Representatives committees: Public Utilities, Transportation and Communications; Gaming; Cannabis, Commerce and Tourism; and Judiciary and Governmental Operations.
In an interview, Villagomez said, “Whenever I select the chairperson for each committee, I put my trust in them on how they are going to set up and run their respective committees.”
