Major siting permit application

During a public hearing Tuesday at the Division of Coastal Resources Management, a significant number of people, including community member Robert Reyes, expressed their support for the approval of a major siting permit for Northern Marianas College which intends to construct new buildings, including a student center, on its As Terlaje campus. The major siting permit is required for most large-scale building projects in the CNMI. The permit must be approved by a board consisting of the Department of Commerce, the Division of Environmental Quality, the Department of Lands and Natural Resources, the Department of Public Works, the Commonwealth Utilities Corporation, the Historic Preservation Office, and DCRM.
