HAGÅTÑA (The Guam Daily Post) — A man allegedly told police he “just found” a pouch which contained resealable bags of methamphetamine, a glass pipe, a digital scale and syringes.
Police responded Wednesday to an assault complaint at a Yigo residence and spoke with Rusty Etipo, 37, who was observed to be “fidgeting and grabbing his pockets,” according to a magistrate’s complaint filed Thursday in the Superior Court of Guam.
An officer then obtained Etipo’s consent to search his person when the officer felt “something large in the Defendant’s pants by his buttocks.”
“When the officer asked what it was, Defendant stated ‘betel nut,'” the complaint stated, then Etipo allowed the officer to open the pouch.
According to the complaint, the officer found in the pouch ten resealable bags containing methamphetamine, a digital scale, a glass pipe with methamphetamine residue, two syringes and ten clear resealable bags.
“The report indicates that the Defendant denied owning the pouch or the drugs contained within the pouch and claimed that he just found the pouch,” the complaint stated.
Etipo was charged with possession with intent to deliver a Schedule II controlled substance as a first-degree felony and possession of a Schedule II controlled substance.
