HAGÅTÑA (The Guam Daily Post) — A man who allegedly demanded he be put on a flight out of Guam or he would “execute someone every hour” was charged with terroristic conduct. The incident occurred Nov. 2 at the Guam International Airport Authority departure area.
According to a magistrate’s complaint, airport police responded to the Transportation Security Administration checkpoint where they met with an individual who was approached by the suspect, identified as Daniel Richard Don Tennyson, 37, who “demanded a flight to the nearest place with Central Intelligence Agency. The defendant stated that he wouldn’t be paying for the flight and needed food and water. The Defendant then stated that if he doesn’t get a flight he will execute someone every hour,” the complaint states.
The witness told police that Tennyson did not appear to be joking. His demeanor made the witness fearful.
According to the complaint, Tennyson was carrying a backpack with a 12-inch kitchen knife inside.
The encounter resulted in TSA shutting down the security checkpoint and passenger processing.
The complaint states that Tennyson was located outside the airport near the benches at the departure area, and he refused to speak with airport police and demanded to speak with United States marshals.
Superior Court of Guam Magistrate Judge Benjamin Sison set cash bail at $100 and ordered Tennyson be detained at the Department of Corrections.
