Lt. Aloysius Alonz said that the suspect was arrested late Friday morning for burglary, robbery and assault with dangerous weapon.
The suspect was responsible for the injuries of Tohedul Islam who is still under observation at the hospital.Islam was hit in the head with a blunt object while on duty on August 16.Alonz said initial investigation disclosed that the suspect attacked the guard with a blunt object then entered the establishment and stole assorted items.The suspect then fled aboard a getaway vehicle.Police report indicated that the getaway vehicle figured in a hot pursuit with police officers after the driver was spotted driving recklessly on the road.The police report indicated that the car was later abandoned and the suspect fled on foot.However Lt. Alonz said investigation is still going on to determine if the arrested suspect is also the one driving the car that figured in a car pursuit earlier for traffic violations.Alonz said there could be more than one person involved in the first burglary and robbery incident last week.The other burglary at the Fish Happy Market occurred three days later involving one Ezra Ngiraked, 23.Ngiraked was arrested on the scene by responding police officers after he was caught inside the establishment early dawn on Wednesday.Ngiraked entered the Fish Happy Market through the window and stole half case of beers.He was about to flee when cops arrived and arrested him.
