Man arrested for “ice” trafficking

Ice trafficking resurfaces anew after the man’s arrest. Palau has been very vigilant regarding the entry of the illegal drug in the country.

BPS Director Norvert Yano said, Iseley Singichi Ngowakl, 41, male-Palauan was arrested on April 19 at around 7 p.m. while he was walking along the road in Medalaii hamlet in Koror.

Yano said before the operation conducted Drug Enforcement Operatives held several test buy. When it was turned positive, the operative then held a surprise arrest against the suspect.

The director, however, said he was not sure if there was a drug on the suspect’s possession had been confiscated during the operation.

The suspect is now detained at the Jail and a case of drug trafficking is being prepared against him.

The first hearing according to the police is set in June 11.

The penalty against ice trafficking is a mandatory of 25-year jail term.
