BRADLEY Derick Hocog was arrested on Monday afternoon for attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, unlawful discharge of a firearm, unlawful transport of a firearm and disturbing the peace, Variety learned.
Hocog, 30, fired a gun at a moving vehicle on Beach Road in Susupe. No one was hurt.
The person in the vehicle is the daughter of his former girlfriend, according to the victim’s mother.
She said Hocog was a passenger in another car with his now-girlfriend, and that there was child in the backseat of their vehicle when he fired a gun at the victim’s car.
“My daughter, who was with her boyfriend, did not make any provocation or anything,” the victim’s mother said.
“I have no idea why he did that,” she added, referring to Hocog. She said she and Hocog separated in February 2021, and that she had filed a temporary restraining order against him.
“He probably thought it was me driving the car,” she said.
Asked whether she knew that Hocog owns a gun, she said, “It’s probably illegal.”
Hocog, however, is a registered gun owner, police sources said.
He has also admitted to the police that he shot the victim’s vehicle, the sources added.
Hocog works in the private sector, Variety learned.
As of press time Monday evening, DPS had not issued any official statement about the incident.
