Man assaulted another with a knife

Mcnally Otuangel Seklii was charged with aggravated assault and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon for stabbing Kiyoki Bells on July 14, 2008.

Seklii appeared for arraignment on Friday, October 3 with Chief Public Defender Garth Backe and entered a plea of not guilty to the charges.The defendant posted a $500 bond and was released from custody.He was ordered to stay away from the victim.His status conference was set for October 31 at 10 a.m.The affidavit of probable cause stated that the victim approached the defendant on July 14 at the PCC campus and confronted the defendant for bothering his girlfriend.The defendant denied bothering the victim’s girlfriend and when the victim asked if he wanted a fight, the defendant then pulled out a knife and pointed it at the victim.The victim upon seeing the knife tried to walk away but was kicked in the back by the defendant.A fight ensued between the two. During the scuffle, the defendant stabbed the victim at the back.The victim tried to run away but was chased by the defendant and was stabbed again at the upper left side of the victim’s back body.The defendant then fled from the scene.School personnel called an ambulance and rushed the victim to the hospital.
