VINCENT “VJ” Gaza Sanchez, 25, of Susupe appeared before Superior Court Associate Judge Wesley Bogdan last week.
Sanchez was arrested on Dec. 7, 2020 after he was accused of repeatedly punching his minor niece for not cleaning fast enough.
The victim has described Sanchez as a “good boy,” but he started smoking “the white thing” that “makes him stupid.”
She described the “white thing” as a glass ball on one end attached to a long pipe through which Sanchez smoked something that looked like sugar and was stored in a Ziploc bag.
Sanchez is said to have punched the victim three times before asking her if she wanted to be punched a fourth time.
The victim said Sanchez punched her on the left neck area twice and her upper left cheek with a closed fist.
He later punched her again on the left cheek and told her to clean faster.

This was not the first time that Sanchez had beaten her, the victim said, adding that in previous incidents Sanchez had burned her forearm, caused her nose to bleed, and kicked her face.
After she informed her parents of the abuse, they contacted the authorities.
Sanchez’ bail was set at $7,500. He is facing one count of child abuse to include domestic violence based on 6CMC 5312 (a)(1) of the Commonwealth Criminal Code.
Judge Bogdan ordered Sanchez to return to court today, Wednesday, at 9 a.m. for preliminary hearing.
Sanchez’ arraignment was scheduled for Jan. 5, 2021.
