HAGÅTÑA (The Guam Daily Post) — The Guam Police Department is investigating an attempted robbery that resulted in one man dying from a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
On Monday morning at around 3:08 a.m., officers with GPD’s Dededo Precinct responded to a reported gunshot incident in Dededo.
“Upon arrival, officers encountered two injured males and disarmed an individual who had discharged a firearm during an attempted robbery,” according to a GPD press release sent at 1 p.m., Monday.
Preliminary investigations identified one of the men sustained an eye injury wand was treated at the Guam Memorial Hospital and released. The other man, who sustained a gunshot wound to the abdomen, was taken to Guam Regional Medical City, where he was later pronounced deceased, the release stated.
“Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Section have assumed control of the investigation, which remains active. No further details are available at this time. Updates will be provided as more becomes available,” GPD shared.
