Man in assault and battery case charged

Mc Henlly Keriik Maui was summoned to appear on August 14, Thursday, to face his charge.The information filed in court stated that Maui assaulted Alston Santos on May 25, 2008.The affidavit of probable cause submitted to court by Officer Alvin Ingereklii stated that the victim was drunk on May 25 and was bothering the defendant when the latter pushed him.The defendant wanted to fight with the victim, the affidavit stated.The incident happened in front of the Ngarard State office.The affidavit stated that the victim passed out and when he woke up he was laying on the ground with a dislocated jaw.The victim was brought to the hospital for treatment and underwent surgery for his jaw.The affidavit stated that a witness saw the defendant punching the victim in the mouth and knocking him out.The witness told the investigator that the victim was very drunk and was bothering the defendant before he was hit.
