Jonathan Finay posted a $500 surety bond on Friday and was released from custody.
Finay was ordered to stay away from the victim Wise Fyers.Finay was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.He appeared for arraignment on Friday and entered a plea of not guilty to the charge.Chief Public Defender Garth Backe represented him while Assistant Attorney General Liz Avore appeared on behalf of the government.Finay was charged for hitting Fyers with a bamboo rod on March 29.The affidavit of probable cause submitted in court stated that victim was aboard his vehicle and was traversing along Meyuns when a rock hit the car.The victim got out of the car and confronted the defendant.A fight ensued later and the defendant picked up a bamboo stick and hit the victim in the forearm.
