The police identified the victim as Dwight Ilek, 39 years old.
According to the police investigation at around 3a.m. on Tuesday, an unknown caller reported to the police that a car hit a power pole located in front of H.K. Store in Idid hamlet.
Further probe showed that Ilek was driving his car, Nissan Laurel Sedan colored blue from the parking lot of his residence when it rammed into the pole. Ilek then started to reverse his car but instead hit the store building.
The case is under police investigation.
In another news, a woman was issued a citation for negligent driving after her driven vehicle collided into another vehicle.
Investigation showed that the driver identified as Maelee Sokau was following the traffic flow heading towards Topside, Koror when her cell phone rang.
Sokau immediately answered the call and without paying attention, she hit another car.
