Manta Ray Battalion cadets assist in SSHS graduation ceremony

THE dedicated cadets of Saipan Southern High School’s Manta Ray Battalion played an instrumental role in overseeing the road guard duties during the graduation ceremony held at SSHS’s main campus on June 6, 2023, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Every year, different groups of volunteered cadets provide road guard assistance for the graduating seniors of Saipan Southern High School.

Prior to the commencement of the graduation ceremony, cadets undergo thorough briefings on effectively guiding vehicles to designated parking areas.

Each cadet was assigned to a specific group, assuming responsibility for designated parking areas scattered throughout the school campus.

The cadets guided vehicles on the day of the ceremony, ensuring all safety protocols were upheld.

Once again, the cadets taking part this year demonstrated outstanding motivation.

From 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., the eagerly awaited graduation ceremony of Saipan Southern High School unfolded on the main stage. The Manta Ray Battalion’s Color Guard skillfully executed the presentation, posting, and retiring of the colors.

Leading the Color Guard team was C/1SG Sean Villaluz, proudly carrying the U.S. flag. Assisting him were C/2LT Coby Rabauliman as the left guard and C/SFC Mathew Salas as the right guard. Additionally, C/2LT Logan Mendiola carried the CNMI flag with utmost honor.

The commencement ceremony was a joyful celebration for the graduating seniors, symbolizing the completion of a challenging and difficult year.

With their high school journey coming to an end, they embark upon an exciting new chapter in their lives. Congratulations to the Class of 2023!
