(MANGO) — The Marianas Alliance of Non-governmental Organizations is a CNMI nonprofit established in 2010 in response to a critical need to provide the nonprofit community of the Commonwealth with guidance on how to register a nonprofit organization with the CNMI and federal governments, obtain tax-exempt status, pursue funding opportunities, and to give the nonprofit sector a collective voice in the community and at local, regional and international forums.
MANGO is recognized locally and regionally as the official umbrella organization for nonprofits in the CNMI.
MANGO’s long-term goal is to provide leadership and technical assistance for nonprofit organizations in the CNMI.
MANGO’s objective is to ensure that existing and new nonprofits become financially independent and self-sufficient.
To help in those endeavors, MANGO can be the administrative arm for nonprofit members, so that they can focus their energies and resources on providing programs and services to our community.
Since the Lemmai-Mei project kicked off in January 2021, MANGO has helped three organizations acquire their federal EINs, four organizations with their 501(c)(3) (tax-exempt) applications, four organizations with funding proposals, and three fiscal sponsorships.
In addition, MANGO has been servicing the following organizations in support of its mission of providing the CNMI community with special and needed services:
• Administrative services: 4-H Marianas, Amelia Earhart Memorial Monument Inc., Inetnun Kutturan Natibun Marianas, Tano Tasi yan Todu, Pacific Islands Nutrition in Action, Western Pacific Maritime Academy, Transfer Marianas, Chamolinian Cultural Village Inc.
