Masayos, Arurang tops in the unofficial results of Ngiwal election

A General election was held on Tuesday for Ngiwal State and Gov. Arurang got total votes of 259, leading by 102 votes over opponent Cisco Melaitau who got a total vote of 157.Arurang got 169 at the Central and 90 at the Proper while Melaitau got 97 at the Central and 60 at the Proper.A total of 420 voters came on Tuesday and cast their votes. 269 were cast at the Ngiwal Central and 151 at the Ngiwal Proper  Election Officer Avery Midas said they are still waiting for the other unofficial result of the absentee ballots.Midas said out of the total 70 absentee ballots, they have received 35 ballots so far.At the Legislature election, Masayos was leading over other 13 candidates. He got total votes of 257, followed by Azaria Asa Timarong with 241 votes, Stephaliza “Baisach” G. Ngirameong with 228 votes.Marine Law Enforcement Division Chief Ellender Ngirameketii landed fourth with 227 votes while Happy Ngirakesau and Hideki Takataro who both got 193 votes tie on the fifth place, followed by Eugene “Usin” Termeteet who got 184 votes.Manasseh Temol got 166 votes, Lazarus Inacio got 162, Joshua M. Darrow got 141, Francis Titich Termeteet got 136, Jonathan “Sabo” Bultedaob got 119, Margie Bechab and Emory Mesubed both got 81 votes.There will be seven candidates who will be elected in the Legislature.
