MOE and PNOC sign agreement to continue promoting sports in schools

Three years ago, Palau was able to be part of a program called International Inspiration from the London Organizing Committee which promises to promote sports as a tool to inspire kids to be the best that they can be in whatever they do, wherever they are.

The program provides resources from the United Kingdom and helps train Physical Education teachers and create effective sport systems in schools and the community to help children enrich their lives.

However, Baklai Temengil, Secretary General of PNOC, said the program ended on March 31. So what PNOC and MOE did was made an agreement to continue with the program.

“PNOC and MOE merged and signed an MOU to make a commitment to continue to sustain the relationship and the program that we have developed,” said Temegnil. “We want to continue to have a link between sports and PE and sports and education.”

PNOC and MOE will continue the program that International Inspiration has strengthened and they aim to have a better partnership by promoting sports as part of the school’s curriculum. PNOC has also made a commitment to help with the funding through its own resources.
