The marijuana plants were seized from 15 different plantations in Peleliu with the street value of $28,500.
According to the Drug Enforcement’ report, the operation conducted on July 1.
Police officers from DDE and Patrol Division departed from Marine Law ground at 10:30 p.m. on June 30 and arrived in Peleliu at 5 a.m. on the next day.
The group headed by Detective Sgt. Temdik Ngirblekuu raided the illegal clandestine marijuana plantations from different farms and some local residence in the State.
A total of 1, 562 marijuana plants were confiscated. 1, 251 were matured plants and 309 were still nursing.
After the operation the group brought the seized marijuana plants to Marine Law ground at around 5 p.m. and burned.
This is the second marijuana operation conducted by the DDE in Peleliu.
Last week, 2,000 pounds or equivalent to more than 900 kilograms of marijuana plants were confiscated by the joint elements of Drug Enforcement and Criminal Investigation Divisions in an operation against illegal drugs in Peleliu Island.
The marijuana has a street value of $120,000.00.
According to the DDE, Peleliu State has the biggest marijuana plantation among other States. This illegal drug is allegedly distributed to the Koror State and the entire Republic
Aside from Peleliu, the DDE also said that Angaur State has also marijuana plantation.
These two States are under marijuana watch list.
