Morei said the program run from April 23 to May 6 and was a program organized by the International Cooperation and Development Fund (ICDF) sponsored by the Taiwan Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Morei received a special award for the Best participant. She bested the other participants as she showed that she was best ambassador of Palau displaying a positive attitude, leadership skills.
She also attended all the sessions and actively participated in all the lectures and the filed trips.
Morei was nominated by President Remengesau and Vice President Elias Camsek Chin to attend the workshop.
There were 27 participants from the Countries with diplomatic ties with ROC, Taiwan namely: Argentina,Burkina Faso-West Africa, Mongolia, Kiribati, Guatemala, Solomon Islands, Paraguay, Panama, Czech Republic, Palau,Tuvalu, Gambia, West Africa, Barbados, Belize, Honduras, Marshall Islands, Swaziland, Nauru, El Salvador, Trinidad and Tobago, Chile, Ecuador, Bangladesh, Haiti, Indonesia and St. Lucia.
Morei said the participants were newspaper reporters, editors magazines, consultants, radio broadcasters and managers, TV talk show hosts, press Secretary for their Governments.
Morei said as a participant they got a first hand experience and lectures in the Taiwan’s Media Development.
As part of the workshop, they visited all the major media industry in Taiwan in Print Media, Broadcast and Television, namely, Government Information Office (GIO), Radio Taiwan International., the Central News Agency, Public Television Services (PTS), Taiwan News and etc.
She said that for two weeks the country participants were immersed in the History & Culture, Political and the Media Development of the Republic of China, Taiwan.
The Taiwan ICDF and its working staff were exemplary in their undertaking of the workshop organization, which included media tours, lectures, cultural tours, lunches, dinners and night Markets excursions.
“ As a country representative from Palau, I extend my deep appreciation to the Palau Executive for my nomination and for the Republic of China, Taiwan for the Taiwan media experience,” Morei said.
