Motorists prohibited from stopping, standing and parking

BPS Director Norvert H. Yano is reminding the public of traffic law prohibiting the drivers to stop, stand and park their vehicles in any of the said places.

Yano said aside from the intersection, crosswalk and driveway entrance, drivers are prohibited to stop, stand and park within 30 feet upon the approach to official stop sign at roadway side, within 15 feet of a Fire Hydrant, in front of a private driveway, on a sidewalk, at roadside obstructing the traffic, parking at roadside of stopped or parked vehicle at the highway edge (parallel or double parking at the edge of a highway) and any place an erected official traffic signs prohibit parking or standing.Yano this will ensure the safety of pedestrians and provide for safer road conditions.The Director said BPS and the Ministry of Justice will enforce this law, the Title 42 PNC A 515 immediately and ask the public for full cooperation and patients in the enforcement of this law.Yano said drivers who will be in violations of this law would be cited accordingly.BPS is also reminding the pedestrian to stay out of the road and to walk on the clear side of the road only.BPS advised the public to be careful in walking on the road because construction is still going on.
