THE 56-year-old Korean woman who was found facedown Thursday morning near a World War II tank in the Saipan lagoon passed away Sunday, Variety learned.

The victim was unconscious for three days in the intensive care unit at the Commonwealth Health Center.
The Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services said it received a call about the drowning incident at 7:11 a.m., March 25, 2021, and medics from the Susupe fire station arrived at the scene at 7:16 a.m.
The first responders learned that the woman was part of a group that went swimming early in the morning.
One of her companions said that on their way back from the shore, they noticed that the victim was facedown in the water and not moving.
They then brought her to the shore and administered CPR on the victim.
The medics, for their part, continued performing CPR on the way to the hospital.
The victim still had a pulse when they reached the hospital at 7:33 a.m.
