New MOE school buses to begin operations on Monday

The MOE has been transporting more than 250 students from Babeldaob and Airai to Koror using only one school bus, after the two other buses broke down in September.

The smaller bus arrived on February 22 and has been operational since then. The two 65-seater buses arrived on Monday. However, they needed to fix the air conditioning systems first. It will start servicing students on Monday.

The two 65-seater buses will be assigned each to the west and east coasts. One bus will have the west coast, Ngarchelong-Koror route.

From Ngarchelong, it will have stop-overs in Ngaraard, Ngardmau and Ngatpang all the way to Koror.

The other bus will have the east coast, Ngkeklau-Koror route. From Ngkeklau the bus will stop by Ngiwal, Melekeok, Ngchesar, part of Airai, and then Koror.

The 30-seater bus will ply the Koror area.

The MOE has 16 buses all in all, including the three brand new ones, operating in different states.
